Help Me ! Some questions of the distro to Asterisk

Im new using Asterisk my questiosn is why Centos is one of the best distro to implement an Asterisk Server ?? Can help me whit some characteristics than can support this. Because some tell me that i’ll try with this distro…

There are many good ones that people swear by. I changed to CentOS 4.5 from Fedora Core 5 because I was unable to solve some issues. But I am sure that it was some dependency version that was causing my problem and someone with more time and knowledge than me could have solved it.

I also noticed that Digium supported RedHat Enterprise Linux 4 which CentOS 4 is supposed to be base on.

For me personally it was a very good move and solved the issues I was having.

Just please do not install it on SuSE :unamused:

Why ? Our * pbxs based on opensuse are working without problems.

Well, all that you says seems amazing.

But, I need technical bases to support the use of CentOS. This is because its the base of my operating system on which I implemented asterisk.

It is to justify it in my thesis work.

I hope you can help me.

Try for example compiling latest DAHDI on x86_64 SuSE 10.2 :smile:
Another example is that logrotate scripts are not LSB compatible. But it’s not a big deal.
