Help:asterisk as call agent using mgcp

hi its interesting to be in this forum a lot of information about asterisk here…
pls help me in the following topics
1)how to configure asterisk as call agent or media gateway controller
using mgcp
2)how much mgcp will asterisk support (max: capacity)
3)can sip be used as user agent with mgcp being a call agent.

Depends on your MGCP.

Yes, as long as the SIP clients are connected to the Asterisk and your Asterisk is correctly configured for MGCP.

hi… thank you for your reply
ok so i can use sip softphones like xlite as user agents(client and server)
with mgcp as call agent right?
Is there some thing called mgcp phone?but mgcp is not a client side protocol right?then whats it?a little confused…
in mgcp architecture as far as i know there are call agents and media gateways and mgcp is used to control MG’s. also there are endpoints and connections where endpoints are the interfaces in gateways.
