Hi all,
I’ve got few incoming calls which are rejected with “no compatible codecs, not accepting this offer”. Everything gone well until december 2020 with only allowed ulaw and alaw.
To debug, i’ve tried to install g729 codec and allow g722, gsm, g726, g729 under already allowed ulaw and alaw. It changes nothing.
You can see a SIP trace and an incoming rejected call tested in it at 4:25pm.
If anybody could help please.

G729 on the SDP

Server: Asterisk PBX 11.7.0~dfsg-1ubuntu1 replying with a 488 error ,looks you dont have G729 license
You don’t need a licence to offer G.729; you can still use it in passthrough mode.
You only need one codec to be acceptable, for an offer to be valid.
I’ve purchase a licence of 729 on digium. Installed it, licence shown ok, codec shown g729 (G.729A), i’ve restarted asterisk, made a test and nothing change… again no compatible codec, not accepting this offer.
Any idea ? SIP conf
disallow:all
allow:ulaw
allow:alaw
allow:g722
allow:gsm
allow:g726
allow:g729
F**k me I’m too stupid ! The general sip conf allow g729 but not the specified user down in the same conf. So stupid I am. Thanks to all it works fine now.
