Diffrence between AstDB and GLOBAL variable

Hi All,

We can store value in the extensions.conf file using Global variable and AstDB, then what is the difference between AstDB and Global variable?

Well one is a database and one is a variable.

another way of putting it
in the astdb you have family / key / value whereas in varibles you just have name / value

  1. And in both case, we can store value. In case of AstDB value persist (either restart Asterisk) but not in case of global.

Am i write??

  1. Can we store any file in AstDB?

  2. Is asterisk using AstDB for internal working?
