Deadlock avoision

Production Asterisk (latest 1.2.12.1 and latest Zaptel too) Setup. I’ve been going about a week or so running on a TDM2400.

Today however, some individuals reported dialing a number and not getting a ring… the line just sits there as though waiting for a Zap channel to become available. We have not reached the max channels or anything like that.

Here are the highlights from /var/log/asterisk/messages

Oct 10 14:00:55 WARNING[29367] channel.c: Avoided deadlock for ‘0xb6d0ce48’, 10 retries!

Oct 10 14:04:30 WARNING[29367] channel.c: Avoided deadlock for ‘0xb6d0ce48’, 10 retries!

Any insight as to what this means and how we can go about resolving the issues?
