Hi, Is cable internet or cable tv compatible with asterisk, i mean as a source of the network. Is the implementation the same as much as with the broadband/dsl connection? Please advised thanks.

Hi, I just moved and was using DSL before…worked fine. Now in my new home, I am using cable internet (mediacom) and it works fine as well. Actually, I believe my new cable connection is a bit faster than my old DSL connection. DSL, cable, T1 all work.
My cable internet account uses dynamic IP so I have to set host=dynamic in sip.conf to have asterisk box register every so often.
