I have Asterisk 1.8.4.0 and when I do 555 it picks a random channel.
How can I listern to specific extensions?
How do I make it so that I can speek to an Agent and only the Agent can hear me and not the client?
How do I upgrade to Asteris 1.8.5.0 is it simply yum update Asterisk? Or will this cause issues?

Did you get an answer on these questions? I also wanted to know how to monitor specific extension rather. I am using asterisk 1.6.
What 555 does depends on the specific details of your particular dialplan. At least for 1.6.1.0 Spy doesn’t even appear in the sample configuration.
You will need to provide the relevant parts of your extensions.conf.
