ARI Recording of bridge doesn't have out audio from channel 1

Hello guys,

Is there any document describe how recording on a bridge work in details? I found that for some reason out audio from channel 1 is not included in the recording of a bridge.

A recorder channel is added to the bridge, just like a normal channel, and it receives the audio from the bridge.

Even I play audio to the bridge by ARI, it’s still not included to the recording. Maybe I missed something else?

I’m sorry, here is my use case:

  • dial to audience 1 → once call is connected, play audio to channel 1 → audience press 1 → create a mixing bridge, start a recording on the bridge, add channel 1 to the bridge → dial to audience 2 → on channel2 start, add channel 2 to the bridge → play an audio (annoucement that now both audiences can talk to each other) to the bridge.
  • After call is ended, I check the recording, there is no annoucement audio.

You originally stated “out audio from channel 1 is not included in the recording of a bridge” so has the issue already changed?

What I stated would also need to be provided. I’ve had far too many cases of people stating they are doing something and then when the logging is provided it is proven incorrect.

Sorry for the confuse. At the beginning, I played the annoucement audio to channel 1 because I thought the bridge could receive audio from all channels inside it, but the recording of bridge still don’t have it. Then I tried to play it to the bridge, and got the same issue. I investigated the issue with Claude AI, it said the bridge only record audio that naturally stream from audiences, if audio is played either into channel1 or bridge, it won’t be included in the recording. So that’s why I want to find document to dig deeper about this feature.

There isn’t an explicit document for this.

I created a spy channel type = both on the channel 1 and record the spy channel, the recording includes everything in and out even with the annoucement audio I played to the channel 1. So, still not sure why recording of bridge don’t include the annoucement audio.
