We are looking at enhancing channel variables so that they can be automatically included in ARI events on those objects. This would mean modifying channel variables to add an additional `report_events` flag and extending this functionality to bridges. The intent is to allow you to add state information to channels and bridges that persist the lifetime of the corresponding object.
Attached is a patch to channels.json and bridges.json that shows the currently proposed changes to the REST interface.
