Any love for Fonality?

I know this group is more for gearheads. But has anyone had experience with Fonality’s Asterisk based phone systems? If so how was the overall experience, support, value, etc. And how well did the deployment go? TIA.

I have a friend using it, seems to like it. IMHO you do not get anything above and beyond what Asterisk@Home provides.

I intend to buy a PBX for my business and I would like to compare Fonality PBXtra with Asterisk@home or other available sys.
Can anybody help?
Thanks
F

I think you’ll find (like I have) that it’s a matter of personal preference. I have a software development company with resellers worldwide and quite a few of them are getting into asterisk/telephony in addition selling our software, video surveillance, etc, etc. This is where I got the idea to look into asterisk myself. Some swear by fonality and encouraged us to take a look and it really seems to be very nice. On the other hand, we have resellers that stand by AMP/FreePBX.

Personally, I’ve started with A@Home, but ended up clearing out AMP’s scripts and starting with my own since I want to learn the scripting. Which is pretty nice, actually.
