AMI 2.6.0 displays PeerStatus events twice in a row

I am running Asterisk 13.1.0 with AMI 2.6.0 Every time that Asterisk throws a PeerStatus event (not when called with a peerStatus action), the event is generated twice in a row with sequential sequence numbers and timestamp differences of less than a second. Does anyone know how I can prevent this from happening?

That was a known issue (ASTERISK-25116) which should be resolved in 13.8.0 and later versions.
