A@H question

hey,
i have verizon providing my phone service. can i still setup asterisk, or do i need a VoIP provider?

thank you.

That is the reason why asterisk is called asterisk. As the command in the old D.O.S operating system allows to match with anything you want. This means that you may have a pure PSTN or a pure VOIP set up or anything in between. Asterisk gives you all the flexibility.

You’ll probably want to configure your system with a Digium TDM400p PCI card in order to connect to PSTN (e.g. Verizon).
