ssokol
Veteran Asterisk geek and Digium dude, I’ve been involved in the project since 2003. I started out as a consultant, offering custom Asterisk solutions to clients throughout North America. In 2004 I co-founded AstriCon, the Asterisk user’s conference and exhibition. Starting in 2005 I launched a global Asterisk training program in partnership with Edvina AB from Sweden. In 2007 Digium acquired my company.
Since then I’ve served as Product Manager for Asterisk; Marketing Director for Asterisk; Director of Strategic Programs / Entrepreneur In Residence, and co-founder of Respoke (Digium’s enterprise-focused WebRTC startup). In the fall of 2015 I took on a new role as the Marketing Director for Digium’s developer products division which includes Asterisk, Respoke, and the full line of telephony hardware products.
I live in Liberty, Missouri (suburb of Kansas City) and regularly commute to Huntsville in my 1976 Grumman Tiger. I enjoy hiking, hacking, flying, and startups. I’m a regular speaker at all sorts of tech events. I’ve written for TechCruch, NoJitter, and several other tech publications. You can reach me at: ssokol (at) digium (dot) com.
