Who are the parties in the Bridge app?

I’m using the Bridge command to connect channel A to channel B.

I’m in channel A,

Bridge(B)

channels A and B are bridged.

I went to Bridge help to understand the Bridge options.

At the beginning of Bridge help, the terms “bridger” and “bridged party” are used. I assume "“bridger” is A and “bridged party” is B.

Then help switches to using the terms “calling party” and “called party”. For instance:

  • t - Allow the called party to transfer the calling party by sending the DTMF sequence defined in features.conf .
  • T - Allow the calling party to transfer the called party by sending the DTMF sequence defined in features.conf .

I’m not calling anybody. Who are these guys ? Does “calling party” mean “bridger” ? Does the change in terms mean there’s something different ?

I suspect it is the result of cutting and pasting text from the description of the Dial application.

OK. So:

“calling party” = “bridger” = A
“called party” = “bridged party” = B

for all purposes ?
