What happens to our phone number if our VOIP providor goes out of business? Where can we retrieve it from?
If the previous provider has gone unresponsive, you can sign up with a new provider and tell them to port your numbers over. They will have you fill out an LoA (Letter of Authorization) and supply a bill page which shows the number you are requesting to port.
If they FAX the documents over to the previous provider and get to response, they should eventually pull the number for you.
This will be country specific.
