I have two systems that are exhibiting the same thing intermittantly. Users report that they “all of a sudden” have multiple voicemail messages when the BLF key on their phone isn’t lit. Can someone explain to me what happens when a new message is left? Does the system sent a msg light notification for each and every new message OR does it send a notification for the first message and none after that until the accumulated messages are listened to?
It sends a NOTIFY request to the device (either solicited or unsolicited - depends on configuration) which contains the number of read and unread messages.
If solicited then the endpoint has to subscribe to receive this information. If unsolicited then it is always sent to the endpoint without it explicitly asking.
