UDP connection ok but WSS connection fails

Hi,
i have created extension 200 with password 123456
microsip connects successfully with provided credentials.
however if I use the same credentials in webphone ctxSip with
WS URL: wss://server:8089/ws
and
SIP REALM: server
I receive the following error in my asterisk console:

NOTICE[5969]: chan_sip.c:29058 handle_request_register: Registration from ‘“username” sip:200@***server***’ failed for ‘my_ip:49492’ - Wrong password

chan_sip is no longer supported and is not present in the source code of Asterisk 21 or 22.

Anyone here remembering bow chan_sip works is likely to need logs, including “sip set debug on” output, and sip.conf.
