Transition from Samsung iDCS

I would like to transition my company from it’s current analog based voip phones over to sip trunks. I’m told our Samsung iDCS system will not support the trunking. I’m considering using Asterisk, but it would only work if it was compatible with our existing iDCS 28D phones. Has anyone had experience with these phones with Asterisk? If so, could you share a bit of your experience with me?

You say:
"I would like to transition my company from it’s current analog based voip phones over to sip trunks."
What do you mean by that? From what I could see on an IDCS is that the 28D are digital phones therefore those phones will not work with asterisk at all. Now if you have Analog phone lines, and want to convert to SIP trunks, you can use asterisk if you want. You will need all new phones. Or you could buy an ATA and break the SIP trunks out to Analog so the iDCS will work with them.
