Can we run the Asterisk with only X100P card?
Can we configure the X100P for both FXO and FXS?

Thanks for helping.

I am a newbie in this field, my boss ask me to setup a VoIP system with Asterisk. The problem is I don’t have a FXS card with me.

Based on the information I got from net, we need a FXS card to make it run. So, my question is: is it posibble to run the Asterisk without a FXS card?

If yes, what can i do on the configuration files to make run?

Thanks.

You’d better tell your boss to read this:

Yes. Lots of people do it. But it depends what you want to do. If you want to connect a POTS (standard phone company type) phone to it you can use an ATA (analog telephony adapter)

[voip-info.org/wiki/view/Anal … e+Adapters](http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Analog+Telephone+Adapters)

Alternatively, you can use a hardware VOIP phone

or a software VOIP phone

That’s like asking “how do you repair a car”! Asterisk isn’t just a simple software application like a web browser or something - it’s an entire telephone exchange in software. You’re going to have to read the documentation at those links i gave you in my previous message!

There’s a lot to learn about Asterisk before you can use it in a production environment. And you have to know linux reasonably well too.
