TAS Suitability


I’m very new here. I am looking at setting up a Telehone Answering Service and thankfully found Asterisk before spending any money.

Asterisk is a definate starting point for me with its various functionality but has anyone tried running in a TAS environment.

What I suppose it needs to be able to do is to identift from which number a call is diverted which would then trigger a screen of information from a database. Not rocket science I know but there is a product called Tasterix which is a tailored bolt on to Asterisk specifically for this purpose but not open source.

Can it do something out the box?

Any help or pointers in the right direction would be great.
