SPA3102 to Asterisk "Failed to authenticate device"

Hello all,

I am very new to Asterisk. I have a brand new install that appears to be working fine for VOIP. I can make and receive VOIP calls fine to the one extension I currently have set up. I am trying to attach a Linksys SPA3102 for outgoing and incoming PSTN calls.

Outgoing calls appear to work fine (VOIP to PSTN). Incoming calls however do not work. When dialing the PSTN line, the line just rings out. I know the SPA is seeing a ringing line as if I set “Off Hook While Calling VoIP” to YES under PSTN setting (PSTN-To-VoIP Gateway Setup) it goes off hook.

I was using this guide to setup the system. … 00-freepbx

I get the following error in my asterisk log file every time the SPA is rebooted.

[2011-06-28 23:30:58] NOTICE[3257] chan_sip.c: Failed to authenticate device PSTN sip:1-pstn@;tag=cb29f9b69daff2d6o1

Under the General settings tab in freepbx I have “Allow Anonymous Inbound SIP Calls?” set to yes.

When I make the incoming call to the PSTN line and here the ringing tone, I see this when snooping from asterisk to the SPA

23:42:06.703542 IP > SIP, length: 984
23:42:06.704337 IP > SIP, length: 481
23:42:06.711863 IP > SIP, length: 346
23:42:06.715487 IP > SIP, length: 1136
23:42:06.716102 IP > SIP, length: 402
23:42:06.721550 IP > SIP, length: 498

The SPA is at .5 and asterisk is at .4

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
