Slow connection between asterisk and mssql

Problem solved!.
The problem was not on the asterisk side.

Very VERY slow connetion to external mssql database (on LAN) for lookup of extensions. Any ideas?

the mssql-server is on a Dell PowerEdge 2950.

the CPU-load is almost zero so that cant be the problem.

When i make an outbound call, it lookups the number in the mssql-db. This takes around 25 seconds, that cant be right, right?

Help needed!!

Just for kicks. What was the problem? Slow DNS resolution perhaps?

It might have been. As of now, i dont know. The problem solved itself when i restarted the machine hosting the mssql-server. :smile:
