I am Kashif. I am ising Fedora Core 3 when I am making calls through IAX using G711. Just for testing purpose I placed one agent on Asterisk, the quality of the call was great but when I hear the recording of the calls made that was horrible, the sentences were overlapping. I am using simple desktop board having 1.8GHz having 1 Lan card on my machine. Can any body help my in that as I am loosing my project.

we had this problem before, and i don’t remember exactly what fixed it, but i believe it ended up being something with the system install.
one thing that seems to help random issues for me is to recompile zaptel and asterisk. i know it sounds crazy, but twice, we’ve had issues that were not helped by anything else - recompiling zaptel, then asterisk (we’re not using PRI trunks, so don’t need libpri) fixed the problems.
you might also post what version of asterisk you’re using. also, make sure you’re not running X or any non-essential services on that server.
Surely, I will try that Hope it will solve my problem.I will aIso reinstall the OS If you say. I am using Asterisk 1.7 and is using only for Callling purpose. I am also not using PRI but has installed libpri. Do u want me to uninstall that?

no need to uninstall libpri - it won’t hurt anything.
just try recomplining zaptel, libpri, and asterisk…
