Same Ext on two boxes via IAX2

Hello,

I am trying to migrate over my extensions to a new box and was wondering if there’s a way to have extensions on both boxes be the same and have them ring all via IAX2.

Example
Box1 has Ext 5001
Box2 has Ext 5001

Right now all calls are routed into Box1 but for testing the phone is registered to box2. If a call comes into box1 it should try to ring both Box1 and Box2 ext?

The reason I want to do this is so that I can have a small test group moved over to the new box while I am waiting for the port requests to process and still have them be able to call everyone else on the server with just their extensions.

Is this doable or am I just crazy?

Asterisk extension numbers are independent of device names. Regardless of technology, just list all the device names, separated by &s in the first parameter of the Dial application.
