RFE to allow arbitrary sip line names?

I suggest that we add an optional “authname” parameter to a sip.conf entry so that I can name my lines whatever I want ([thepartinhere]) and the phones can use “arbitrary” usernames to auth TO asterisk (such as employee ID).

I am looking for opinions on whether this is a good idea or a bad idea or whatever before I go thru the process of actually trying to submit an RFE somwhere :smile:
