Resetting 7960 through telnet

Trying to reset my SIP 8.2 7960 through telnet.

my config already contains:

telnet_level : 2

when I type reset I get:

SIP Phone> reset
Wait for watchdog to expire

it just hangs there and never resets…am I doing something wrong ?

Does it disconnect your telnet session? FYI you can also reboot the phone using the asterisk command "sip notify cisco-check-cfg ".

it does not disconnect my telnet session. it hangs there for a long time ( let it for like 20 minutes once ).

if I close the telnet myself and telnet back in again, I can execute commands again but reset will do the same.

called Cisco yesterday and they were puzzled. A senior engineer is supposed to call me today
