Recommended voip phone

hello pal

please let me know what is the best voip phone suited for asterisk

i need VOIP phone which has

  1. digit timeout,
  2. for IAX/SIP protcols
  3. hope its approximately or less $100.00 (yet, tell me even if its higher )

heck you could even search the forum and find answers instead.

most phones will support a digit timeout. Some also have simple dialplan ability so you can define patterns that can be called. Some on top of that have live dial keypads so every time you dial another digit it sends what you’ve dialed so far to *. If it doesn’t match anything yet asterisk will send back an incomplete.

There are not many IAX hard phones. SIP is far more popular.

I always recommend SNOM and AAstra as they are good quality products with good support. They are however more than $100USD. If you want less than $100USD try the Grandstream GXP-2000. It does support a digit timeout and can be had for around $85 US / unit. Supports power over ethernet too.
