Question on recording voice msgs to be played by Asterisk

Hi there

I have to set up a simple IVR system on my Asterisk(part of our larger product) and I won’t need any complext Text-to-Speech engines provided by Festival or the commercial Cepstral.

My question is whether it is a good idea in my case to just buy a Text-to-Speech software(e.g. Cepstral), record the required voice messages, and then put them on the Asterisk. Then , will I be able to sell the product without any copyright infringement?

If so, what is the TTS software with the best voice quality you would recommend?

Thanks
John

If they are standard prompts that won’t change in your product. You could hire Allison to record them for you, this way all prompts on the system sound the same (and not robotic).
