Hi! guys,
I am a newcomer to PSTN software development. I found Asterisk from web search today.
Could anyone be kind enough to tell me whether Asterisk fully supports the famous SS7 protocols stack ? especially the ISUP component?
If the answer to my question is a dilightful YES, how could I obtain the source code? do I need to pay a fee for the license?
Any information and refrences are greatly appreciated!
Thanks a lot!

Asterisk in its self does not support SS7. There are a number of patches out there that make asterisk ss7 compatible. Have a look at:
voip-info.org/tiki-index.php … terisk+SS7

Have a look at the asterisk users list. There is some one that just wrote something for asterisk. It is hot off the press.
