in my experience, I’ve had same crashes while intensive wss usage, its a pain…
asterisk UPgrade from 16 till 17 did not help.
segfaults came from libssl and libcrypto. ,
but lucky, upgrade libssl till max possible version (for the OS version ) and recompile asterisk from sources helped , uptime is 3 month !!!
before it crashed several time per day 
, it reminded me a the story with bugs in libpri from the past in early 2010th , when crashes was a every day problem …
could you tell more about that? What linux distro you using, and what version of libssl you have?
right now i have installed this one:
libssl1.1/focal,now 1.1.1f-1ubuntu2 amd64 [installed,automatic]
I update asterisk to version 16.15.0 and until now any error happened again, usually this error happened 2,3 times per day, already passed two days using the system after updated.
Could you tell me which distro are you using ?

have you tried to use the last asterisk 18 version?

this version has a lot of bugs fixes in pjsip.
Yes. I tried 18 but still this same issue. Right now client install sip proxy and problem has gone.
