Placing caller in call queue

A simple (for same) and quick question…
I would like that when a phone is ringing that if the operator is busy that I want them to be able to push a button on the phone and place the caller into a calling queue. Is this possible with Asterisk, and how?

Also, once in the queue, is there some way of getting a notification to the operator saying that there is a call in the queue (ie, via a windows popup or TAPI applications)?

It may be better simply to setup a queue with the receptionist being the only agent. If the receptionist has a PC then you could install the Flash Operator Panel (FOP) so that they can monitor calls and queues. If you use FreePBX (or in fact trixbox) this should be really easy as everything is included (i.e. FOP) that you need!
