Other party ring detection

How to know, in dialplan commands, when the called number starts ringing?
There must be some way to detect the state of originated call and do some actions depending on the result.

how to know, in forums, what the poster is talking about ?

come on, what technology are you using ? what call progress detection methods have you already tried ? have you read the sticky at the top of the forum ? did you look at the wiki ?

Thanks for your interst in my problem, but there is no reason to be angry.
I am not asking about any specific technology device.
I want to find a command or techinque to detect the state of the phone call in dialplan, so it is more theoretical question.
Please, name every progress detection methods that you know - i’ll try them all.
And yes, I read the documentation.

Boy do you know how to make friends.

Basicly though DYOR .

Most people here have no time for answering theoretical questions, especially when asked in such a polite way.

Maybe because nobody knows the answer…

or maybe because the majority of the learned people who post here make a living (at least partialy) from installing and support Asterisk. and you want them just to detail precisely what they know about ring detection. just for you.

like i and ianplain said, you need to do the research yourself. that’s what the wiki is for.
