Not enough space in temp directory

Dear all

We have The VoIP Connection Asterisk/SIP system with GrandStream GXP2000 Phones. The problem is that the SIP server is pinging all GrandStream Phones (GXP2000) but all phones are unable to register with SIP server and no voice communication is making through SIP server.

The following Error messages are being observed:

  1. When we login to SIP server the following Error message is appearing on the screen again and again, even we clean the temp directory.

“Error: Not enough space in temp directory /tmp, please clean it out. Use the command " Clean Temp Directory " on the System menu
Current Size:0
Minimum Size: 100000”

  1. After cleaning the Temp Directory, as we click on " Asterisk Status" the following Error Message appears on the screen

" Error: asterisk dead but pid file exists "

  1. After cleaning the Temp Directory, as we click on "Reload Asterisk " the following Error Message appears on the screen

“Error: Asterisk is not running”

  1. After cleaning the Temp Directory, as we click on "Restart Asterisk " the following Error Message appears on the screen

"Stopping Asterisk…

Shutting down asterisk development:[FAILED] [FAILED] [FAILED]
Verifying Asterisk Status…

asterisk is stopped Starting Astersik…

Starting asterisk development: [OK]
Verifying Asterisk Status…

asterisk dead but pid file exists"

  1. After cleaning the Temp Directory, as we click on " Stop Asterisk" the following Error Message appears on the screen

"Stopping Asterisk…

Shutting down asterisk development:[FAILED] [FAILED] [FAILED]
Verifying Asterisk Status…

asterisk is stopped "

  1. After cleaning the Temp Directory, as we click on “Start Asterisk” the following Error Message appears on the screen

" Starting asterisk …

Starting asterisk development: [OK]
Verifying Asterisk Status…

asterisk dead but pid file exists "

  1. After cleaning the Temp Directory, as we click on "Set RAM Disk Size " it shows the following settings:

Main Disk 131072
Temp. Disk 16384
Proc. Disk 8912

We tried different combination but it does not fix the problem.

We have also applied " Restore System Files " and “Restore Configuration Files” but no success. Kindly let us know how to fix it.

thanks & best regards

To me it looks like asterisk is crashing on startup. Turn on logging if it already is not, and look at the output of the full log for pointers.

Alternatively, I looked at the VOIP Connection site and it appears they offer support with your purchase of a VS-1 and may be the quickest way to getting your issue resolved. And if you bought Digiums Appliance AA50,etc…, Digium phone support will likely help as well.
