Nesting audio functions into Read() functions

Is it possible to nest other audio functions into the Read() function like so:

There are many cases where I want the advantage of being able to provide input that can interrupt the verbal prompts, but not have to use prerecorded files. I’m also interested in nesting the Festival() function. Is this possible? Thank you.

Those both look like applications, not functions. There is no general mechanism. You can only nest in things like ExecIF.
