Is it not possible to set custom columns in CDR records?

What’s the difference between cdr_adaptive_odbc.conf and cdr_odbc.conf?

I am currently using cdr_odbc and it doesn’t allow custom CDR entries.

That’s exactly the difference. Adaptive allows custom columns. Another aspect could be that the adaptive modules are so popular that the other modules are not maintained that well.
