Muting per a specific channel

Hi.

Does asterisk support muting per a specific channel?
(like the soft hangup command, were you specify a channel and then
asterisks hangs it up).

If it does not, how will one go about to do something like this?

Some phones have a mute button like the Cisco 7940 I can mute the mic. so I don’t send audio.

What are you wanting to do?

sorry… 4 not providing details. I want to mute a specific channel through web page. In my web page i ll get all the current channels and detail of each channel, in that i want to mute a specific channel.
