Mini http server side scripting possible?

I am trying to install a fully functional asterisk server on the smallest possible code base.

While I know I can install apache, I want to know is it possible to achieve any server side scripting with mini http that comes with asterisk? Is the mini http server based on another opensource project that i could have a look at?

Any help/advice greatly appreciated.

No, the built-in HTTP server does not have any scripting and is not based on anything. It can serve up files and provides an internal interface for parts of Asterisk to have an HTTP entry point.
