Manually "Busy-out" a dahdi circuit

I asked this question in the #asterisk channel to no avail. We are looking to busy-out the physical circuit on our asterisk boxes. This is easily accomplished by

However, this kills any current conversations with no warning to the users. What is a better method? The only tab’d options after dahdi are destroy, restart, set, and show. We are running a Gentoo system with Digium cards.

No one has any hints or suggestions? I didn’t get much of a response in #asterisk either. Nor does googling help…

That probably means that Asterisk has no TOOS (temporary out of service) support. I’m not aware of any, but I don’t have a system that uses circuit switched hardware.
