Loading /etc/init./zaptel at startup on RHEL4

My environ is as follows:

  • 1.2 CVS HEAD as of October 26, 2005
  • RHEL4 w/kernel 2.6.9
  • No zaptel hardware

I have installed zaptel w/ztdummy and have managed to do a manual modprobe to load it (I have done what is recommended in /usr/src/zaptel/README.udev as well).

I have then copied /usr/src/zaptel/zaptel.init to /etc/init.d/zaptel and then done a ‘chkconfig --add zaptel’. But on reboot, the kernel modules do not load. If I do a ‘chkconfig --list’ zaptel shows with running at runtime level 2 & 3.

Any ideas? Is there a problem with the latest zaptel.init example and RHEL4?
