js200-fx google voice authentication fails

hi-
trying to configure js200-fx to use with google voice.
x100p.com/products/js200fx.php

get the following error-
Failed to authenticate Google Voice account.
Please check the login and password!
Also please make sure JS200-FX is connected to the Internet.
(the pc connected to appliance has internet access and the sip extensions are working over internet indicating appliance has internet access)

it does have asterisk cli to do some troubleshooting.
not much support online including at nerdvittles.com/?p=12550

any help appreciated.
