I have just finished configuring Asterisk Now with a Iristel SIP Trunk.

If others are trying to set it up, here’s how my trunk is config in FreePBX:

Trunk name: 15065551212

Peer details:

username=00000000
type=peer
secret=password
insecure=very
host=sbc1.iristel.net
dtmfmode=rfc2833
context=from-trunk
defaultexpiry=90
maxexpiry=90
minexpiry=60

Registration string: 15065551212:password:00000000@sbc1.iristel.net/15065551212

00000000 is the username

Hope this helps others.

Note that “insecure=very” is invalid in current versions of Asterisk, and most people only ever needed insecure=invite.

None of the expiry options belong here.
They need to be placed in the [general] section.
I am not sure why FPBX/asterisk does not perform any input checking and does not scream when people put garbage into their configs. This usually contributes to the increased Dunning–Kruger effect among asterisk users. :smiley:
