Integrated UPS with your asterisks?

Hello,

I was curious if you guys are using the UPS software on your Linux boxes that come with the UPS?

Like APC has a powerchute program that works on their SmartUPS products.

Wasnt sure if I should just stick a UPS on it or not.
Ive heard of people putting in 12v powered PSU’s in the computer, then run them off of 12 car batterys, then run a battery charger into a UPS, the the UPS goes into the 110v wall outlet…

apcupsd if configured with usb will work with most if not all apc ups. l “During a power failure, apcupsd will inform the users about the power failure and that a shutdown may occur. If power is not restored, a system shutdown will follow when the battery is exhausted, a timeout (seconds) expires, or runtime expires based on internal APC calculations determined by power consumption rates.” I use it with rhel4 and it works great. apcupsd.org/

apcupsd works great. It is much lighter in resources than the java driven powerchute junk that APC releases.

awesome thank you i will read up on this and try it out.

The autoshutdown features sounds great

Hi,
the one I use is 'Network UPS Tools’
This works fine & can handle more than one machine on a single UPS.
