IAX to Another Asterisk System

#1

Having teared out all my hair trying to get one Asterisk box to dial another with SIP, I thought I’d five IAX a shot. It’s not working either!

192.168.10.5 (client)

iax.conf:

[vmserver]
type=peer
host=192.168.10.7
peercontext=test
username=vmclient
secret=180

extensions.conf:
exten => 8000,1,Dial(IAX2/vmclient:180@192.168.10.7/8000@test)

192.168.10.7 (server)

iax.conf:

[vmserver]
host=192.168.10.5
type=user
username=vmclient
secret=180
context=test

When I try to dial, the client side displays on the console (with iax debugging turned on). I’ve searched around online and found people asking about this “No authority found” message with very few replies. I also tried using RSA authentication… same error, even when the key file name is invalid, so it isn’t even getting that far. Just ONCE I’d like to get something to work easily with Asterisk. Help appreciated.
