I would like to detect * or # symbol

Hi,

I am new to Asterisk. I have developed a IVR to input the Number field and storing into MySQL database. When the input is given as ***** the system recognize and allowing. In the database, it shows like empty. It is even accepting 12*34. I would like to validate the * symbol and i should not accept * symbol in the numbers field like reg. number or date of birth.

I was searching for it from past one month and i could not search the answers.

Please help me on this regard.

Hi,

  • is a reserved char in mysql (SELECT * FROM…). you have to escape it in your sql-statement (*).

Hi,

Simple. change your logic. replace the * with - in your coding and then you check in the database. Same you have to update in your database to find the exact value.
