How to configure distinctive ringing via GUI interface?

Hi everyone,

I am currently running Asterisk version: System Status Version: 2.6.2.1

I would like to know how to configure or enable distinctive ringing on a particular extension via the web GUI interface. All of our lines are configured with 555-xxxx extensions and we don’t have any trunks to the outside world (just a private PBX).

I can’t figure out how to configure distinctive ringing, but right now my Invite message looks like:

I believe that once I get this configured, I should see an ‘Alert-Info’ line with the desired ring pattern, e.g. http://127.0.0.1/Bellcore-dr3

Any help is greatly appreciated!

What web interface are you using? The asterisk-gui project makes no provisions for sending alert_info - not really, anyway. FreePBX has some, but I don’t know if they use it for distinctive ring - it’s used for intercom. One of the FreePBX knowledgeable people would have to chime in on it.

We are using Trixbox (I believe this is what I’m referring to as the web GUI).

Knowing that, can distinctive ringing be configured via Trixbox, or does it need to be done via the CLI? Either way, do you have suggestions on configuring via Trixbox (if possible), otherwise via CLI?
