How long before powering up 9133i to drop old image in memor

Seems this phone is not dropping changes made to macaddress.cfg. Every time it boots up I get this error in CLI

I have waited up to a minite to reboot the phone so the the newly edited mac.cfg file could not include lines 2-5

Thanks if anyone knows what may be the issue with this phone. I have another 9133i that I will also be looking to see if it has issues.

In your aastra.cfg have you set the global sip settings for the server ?

Ian

Explanation of Settings with Line 1 as Example

==============================================

sip line1 auth name: 0515 # SIP Registrar request authorizatio n name.
sip line1 password: aastra4pass # SIP Registrar request passcode.
sip line1 user name: 0515 # This parameter value is used by th e 9133i
# in the From header field of the outgoing
# SIP packet. It may be replaced by your
# registrar.
#sip line1 display name: CEO # Name used for SIP messages.
#sip line1 screen name: CEO # User’s name seen on the idle screen of the
# user’s phone.

I guess its a little odd that macaddres.cfg is not asking for the registration servers IP address. I do have it setup in the phones UI under global sip.

In your aastra.cfg you need

sip mode: 0
sip proxy ip: 192.168.10.123
sip proxy port: 5060
sip registrar ip: 192.168.10.123
sip registrar port: 5060
sip registration period: 3599

and then in mac.cfg

sip line1 auth name: 3000
sip line1 password: secret
sip line1 user name: 3000
sip line1 display name: Office
sip line1 screen name: Aastra 57i
sip line1 screen name 2: E3000
sip line1 vmail:123
sip line2 auth name: 3001
sip line2 password: secret
sip line2 user name: 3001
sip line2 display name: Asterisk
sip line2 screen name: Office Line
sip line2 screen name 2: 3001
sip line2 vmail: 123

This should then work, or lets say it works on hundreds of 9133i sets I have with customers

sip registrar ip: 192.168.10.4 # IP of registrar.

sip digit timeout: 6

My dhcp, asterisk and ftps server reside on 192.168.10.4. Currenly it is going thoug the .1 firewall/nat box. but I want to make this the firewall/nat proxy box to the dsl modem to cut down on power from two servers.

I am not to happy with the 9133i. It was given to me by another voip phone service company to troubelshoot it. I was able to get it to register but ONLY after deleting the default secretary information in lines 1-5? But whats frustrating about this, I had to manually delete the same line number information three times! sometimes, it would say “timed out” after deleting it. Then I would have to log in and delete it again. Not impressed with this phone. So I cannot delete the username/reg pass info for lines four and five. I do not see this info in the aastra.cfg or the macaddress.cfg. Is there another file that I am missing? Do not see it on aastra web site.

I am really starting to not trust the phones UI and instead depend on its cfg files. BTW, the phone has both extensions in its display. IS that for a name and extension?

Hi

I think part of your problem mabe that you are using the UI and the config files

The order of config is

aastra.cfg
.cfg (This will add settings or overwrite settings made by the aastra.cfg)
Phones UI Some settings here will overwrite settings made by both the other files/

Basicly if you are messing about with configs ALWAYS do a factory restart first and when ever you make a major change.

Ian

I have seen that in the UI. Will do that next.

I would like to build a script that will ask for line extensions or, create multiple files with incremental extensions/usrrnames and passes for small to medium deployments. Of course, existing ones can be created. Thanks for the heads up.
