Hint for extension across a trunk?

I want to try to subscribe to an extension that I reach across a trunk.

Example…I have a peer

[lab-sbc]
context=core
type=peer
host=10.137.226.14

[hint-context]
exten => 7400,hint,SIP/100@lab-sbc

That doesn’t work. I don’t see any subscribe related traffic when I do this. Do I have the wrong syntax? Can I do this?

I wasn’t aware that Asterisk could originate subscribes, except, possibly for message waiting.

There is limited support for Asterisk to Asterisk remote presence, but it doesn’t use SIP.
