Excuse me for my total ignorance, but I’m not too familiar with all of the telecom terminology yet and am pretty new to Asterisk. But I am a sys. arch. / sys. admin. / developer, so I’m not completely clueless, either.
Basically, I have a client who is getting really PO’ed with their current their current PBX consultant and the key system itself. They’re currently using an NEC Electra Elite IPK. No IP here at all: all regular analogue.
I’m curious if there’s a way to either easily migrate to Asterisk or somehow integrate it with the current system they have. They just bought this system a little over a year ago, so it’d be nice if they didn’t have to lose the investment they made on the phones and box. Plus, they’re thinking of adding additional space on another floor in the same building. Maybe VoIP would be the way to go?
Any pointers on where I could start researching or tips you all may have? Thanks.
