I am looking to set up a small PBX for my company. Mostly just to act as an answering machine, call forwarder, and receive faxes. Can I use a voice fax modem to do this? I doubt that I can, let me know what you recommend.

sorry the answer is no. you need to buy a voice card or you can get a voip line (which requires no hardware).
