is the general-section available in extensions.ael ?
and can i use vars as extension in extensions.ael like in extensions.conf ?

On voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+AEL it says “Some users may want to keep extensions.conf for the features that are configured in the ‘general’ section of extensions.conf.” so one would assume that there is no general section equivalent in AEL. Variables work the same IME and you also have the globals section.
